Day 1
Nikola Tesla APT – Belgrade (D) (approx. 40 km)
Arrival at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade where you’ll be met by our tour guide. Transfer to 4* hotel in Belgrade city center and check-in. After a short rest, we’ll take you to a guided sightseeing tour of Belgrade, commencing with the leisurely walk along Knez Mihailova street, the main pedestrian area with numerous boutiques and cafes. We continue to the Kalemegdan park and fortress, where you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the view of the city and the river Sava and Danube confluence. This fortress is also an important cultural and historic complex in Belgrade. We continue by bus to explore rich art-deco style buildings within the downtown and masterpieces of Serbian-Byzantine architecture. Drive along the Terazije Street, to the Slavija Square and the Temple of Saint Sava, the second-largest Orthodox church in the world. After returning to the hotel, free time until dinner. In the evening, we’ll take you to the old, bohemian part of the city named Skadarlija to dinner in a traditional restaurant. Enjoy tasty national cuisine and tambourine music. Overnight in a 4* hotel.
Day 2
Belgrade – Sremski Karlovci – Petrovaradin Fortress – Novi Sad – Salas 137 – Belgrade (BD) (approx. 215 km)
After breakfast, departure to Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town, famous for its beautiful architecture. City sightseeing (Orthodox church, Patrijarsija court, Orthodox Seminary, the fountain „Four Lions“, Chapel of Peace, Stefaneum Palace). Since this area is well-known for wines and grapes from the vineyards on the mild slopes of the Fruška Gora, we’ll take you to one of the most popular wine cellars, with snacks and tasting of local branded aromatic wine called Bermet. Continue to visit the Petrovaradin Fortress, the second biggest fortification in Europe, also known as ″The Gibraltar on the Danube. Next, we’ll take you to a sightseeing tour of Novi Sad, the city declared for the European Capital of Culture for 2021. You’ll see the Square of Liberty, The Name of Mary Catholic Church, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, Orthodox Church, and many more highlights. We’ll end this beautiful day on a traditional farm where you’ll enjoy delicious specialties of the national cuisine and tambourine music. Return to Belgrade in the late evening. Overnight.
Day 3
Belgrade – Ovcar Kablar Gorge – Traditional village Mecavnik (BL) (approx. 250 km)
After breakfast, we’re heading to Ovcar Kablar Gorge, which is a part of the composite valley of the West Morava river. With over 30 monasteries built in the gorge since the 14th century, it is known as the “Serbian Mount Athos”. We’ll take you to a catamaran ride along the gorge (2 hours) and have lunch in a nice restaurant in this wonderful natural environment. Our journey ends at the Mećavnik wooden village, initially built as the set for the movie „Life is a Miracle” directed by Emir Kusturica, well-known film director, but later turned into a holiday resort. Accommodation in a hotel in this beautiful village. Overnight.
Day 4
Mecavnik – Sargan’s Eight Rail Ride – Traditional village Sirogojno – Gostilje Waterfalls – Zlatibor (BL) (approx. 125 km)
After breakfast, we leave the hotel for a scenic ride on the Šargan Eight narrow-gauge railway which once linked Belgrade with Dubrovnik. You’ll experience breathtaking landscapes of Mokra Gora from this vintage train which is quite unusual in yet another way – in order to make a rapid ascent, the train passes through 22 tunnels making a „figure-eight“ – hence its name. After the ride, we’ll go to the village Sirogojno to visit an open-air museum named The Old Village where you’ll see the traditional architecture of the Zlatibor region. All facilities and households you’ll see there are authentic. After lunch in the village, we’ll continue to the Gostilje Waterfalls, a must-see natural attraction in Western Serbia. According to the legend, the faires are taking bath there each night, and it is said that if you make a wish by the waterfall on a full moon, it will come true. After the visit to the waterfall, we’ll take you back to Zlatibor. Overnight in a 4* hotel.
Day 5
Zlatibor– Uvac Nature Reserve – Zabljak Mountain (BL), (approx. 215 km)
After breakfast, departure to the Uvac River National Park situated at northern cliffs of the gorgeous Zlatar Mountain. The Nature Reserve is distinguished for the presence of 104 bird species. Most popular of all is certainly a griffon vulture, one of the two vulture species that are still nesting in Serbia. In this beautiful environment, the group will embark on the touristic boat and cruise the lake with an experienced sailor. During the boat trip, we’ll stop to see the Frozen Cave belonging to the Uvac cave system. The cave is 6 km long, but we’ll walk only to the 2nd hall, some 400 hundred meters away from the entrance. After the visit to the cave, the next stop is a ridge and a path that leads through the forest right to the famous viewpoint. After a twenty-minute uphill walk, you’ll reach the spot from where you can enjoy the great view to the Uvac meanders. From this viewpoint, the old medieval fortress can also be seen. Here, we’ll have a unique picnic lunch in the open air. Afterward, we’ll drive you to Montenegro, to the Zabljak Mountain. Overnight at 4* hotel.
Day 6
Zabljak – Durmitor National Park – Zabljak (BL) (approx. 85 km)
Breakfast and full day of exploring Zabljak and National Park Durmitor. Our today’s trip goes along the Tara Canyon which is a part of the Durmitor National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll have nice and easy hiking to Durmitor lakes – Barno, Zminje and Black Lake. This famous and beautiful National Park was formed by glaciers and is traversed by the river and underground streams. You’ll have a lunch break in this authentic environment with a unique view of the mountains, in a local traditional restaurant which offers a rich selection of traditional Durmitor specialties and high-quality wines. After lunch, we’ll take you to a breathtaking viewpoint by gondola lift. Back to Zabljak and a free afternoon. Overnight.
Day 7
Zabljak – Kotor – Trebinje (BL) (approx. 250 km)
After breakfast, we’ll take you to the famous Boka Bay to visit the Old Town of Kotor, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Mediterranean region (UNESCO World Heritage List). We’ll take you to a light sightseeing walk to the Square of Weapons and the famous Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Transfer to Perast, a charming baroque town, and a boat trip to the beautiful island „Our Lady of the Rocks“. After visiting an island and its amazing Roman Catholic Church, return to Perast, where we will have lunch in a nice restaurant with a stunning view of the bay and the island. Drive to Trebinje, Bosnia. Check-in at 3* hotel. Overnight.
Day 8
Trebinje – Mostar – Sarajevo (BD) (approx. 255 km)
After breakfast and a short walk sightseeing tour in Trebinje, we depart to Mostar. Upon arrival, a sightseeing tour of this wonderful city and visit to the Old Town and Old Bridge on the Neretva river. Departure to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Accommodation in 4* hotel. Dinner in a nice traditional restaurant in Sarajevo Oldtown, where you will enjoy a delicious 5-course Bosnian meal. Overnight.
Day 9
Sarajevo (B)
After breakfast in the hotel, a walking city tour follows. You’ll visit the City Hall and National Library, House of Spite, streets Bravadziluk and Kazandziluk which keep old handcraft stores and shops. Continue to Sebilj, a pseudo-Ottoman-style wooden fountain in the heart of the Bascarsija Square, to Ghazi Husrev Bey’s Mosque and Maddresah, Sarajevo’s Cathedral, Jewish Museum, Clock Tower, and Ghazi Husrev Bey’s Bazaar. Departure to the Airport. End of the tour.
