Day 1: Nikola Tesla Airport – Novi Sad (D) approx. 120 km

Fly to Belgrade where you will be met by your tour guide for this journey. Transfer to Novi Sad, (only 80 km from the airport), beautiful city on the Danube river, declared for the European Capital of Culture for 2021. Upon arrival, we will take walking sightseeing tour of this amazing multicultural city. Start from the main square, The Liberty Square which is surrounded by the City Hall and The Name of Mary Church, to the mail pedestrian area Zmaj Jovina Street, Patriarch’s Palace to the Dunavska Street and Dunavski Park. Check in at the hotel in the center of the city. Time at leisure until we go to have a dinner in a nice local restaurant in the center of the city. Overnight.

 

Day 2: Novi Sad – Krušedol Monatery – Sremski Karlovci – Petrovaradin – Novi Sad (B,L) approx. 65 km

After the breakfast, enjoy the full day of activities that will stay in your memory forever. We drive along Fruška Gora National Park, known as „The Serbian Athos“ because of its monasteries which are built and stand proudly in this area. Our first stop for today is baroque  Krušedol Monastery, dedicated to the Annunciation of the Holy Virgin. Due to its wealthy historical treasury, famous iconostasis, and many other relics, Krušedol Monastery is considered one of Serbia’s most significant monasteries. After the visit, we depart to Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town on the Fruška Gora slopes and on the bank of the Danube, one of the most important spiritual and cultural centers of Serbia. Sightseeing of the city: Patriarchy Residence, Orthodox Cathedral, Theological School, and The Chapel of Piece. Visit one of the most famous wineries in Sremski Karlovci where you will enjoy in quality wines from this area and a snack. Some time at leisure untill we go to the magnificent Petrovaradin fortress, located on the Petrovaradin cliff, above the right bank of the Danube River. Petrovaradin Fortress is symbol of Novi Sad and one of the best preserved fortifications, and also, the second largest in Europe. After an interesting stories about it and gorgeous view on the city, we will set down in a beautiful restaurant on the Danube shore to take a late lunch. We will finish this exciting day by 15 minutes leisure walking across the bridge and getting to the city center where we will have time at leisure to relax and explore the city. Overnight.

 

Optional: Underground military galleries tour with a lunch on the Petrovaradin fortress or visit the Matica Srpska gallery ( Serbian national art from the 16th to the 20th century ) or Museum of Vojvodina visit.

 

Day 3: Novi Sad – Banoštor – Rakovac Monastery – Neštin – Novi Sad (B,L) approx. 55 km

After the breakfast, we take a nice ride along Fruška Gora to come to the small village, Banoštor, where we will visit one family winery with a long tradition and beautiful wineyard surface. After tasting the amazing white wines such as Chardonanay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bermet we will visit a nunnery, the Rakovac monastery, which was regarded as one of the most beautiful churches built in the 16th century. The afternoon we will send in authentic ethno village in a beautiful landscape. Enjoy in this hedonism oasis where we will have a chance to learn how to prepair, knead and bake traditional bread and johny-cake, and also to have an unique lunch. In the evening we go back to Novi Sad and enjoy in our rest of the leisure evening. Overnight.

Day 4: Novi Sad – Kelebija – Subotica – Palić – Novi Sad (B,L) approx. 250 km

After the breakfast, we depart to the very north of the country, to our first stop, Kelebija horse farm. Modern stable with a museum of carriages, racetrackes, artificial lake and a beaufiful park where we will have a chance to ride a horse or to have a nice carriage rides. The next stop is beautiful secession city, Subotica, aslo called Panonian Barselona, is known for its relaxed atmosphere, good food and quality wines. Rich cultural heritage assets, lavishly decorated buildings, multicultural spirit and European charm – these are the features that make this city distinctive. Sightseeng tour of the city – starts from the main square where you will see the most important sights of secession in this town, such as The City Hall which is true symbol of the city, as well as the baroque Cathedral, Subotica Synagogue, Rajhl Palace (Art Gallery) etc. After the sightseeing, we will take a lunch in popular messuage (English translation for „salaš“ – rural farm) and enjoy in an on-site restaurant and a large outdoor area. Follows fairytale Palić Lake, where we’ll have a walk down the lake and you’ll have a chance to see  the Water Tower, the Grand Terrace, the Women’s Lido and the Music Pavilion. Here we will enjoy in a traditional deserts in a modern pastry shop followed by the visit of the most famous winery in this area to finish this tour with winetasting. Going back to Novi Sad and free evening for individual activities and exploring the streets of Novi Sad. Overnight.

 

Day 5: Novi Sad – Zemun –  Belgrade (B,D) approx. 110 km

We leave this beautiful city and head to the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. On our way to this amazing city, we will stop to visit in Zemun, the most southern point of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Visit the Gardoš Tower which rises on the right bank of the Danube and is the natural lookout to the area across the river. Located on the slopes of the hill with its tower and preserved the old architecture, Gardoš is the major historical landmark of Zemun and one of the puzzle part of Belgrade tour.  Upon arrival in the „White City“ (Serbian translation of the city name), we set off for the sightseeing tour, commencing with the leisurely walk along Knez Mihailova street, the main pedestrianised area containing numerous boutiques and cafes. We continue into leafy area of Kalemegdan park and fortress, which affords us an opportunbity to enjoy some of the best view of the city and the river Sava and Danube confluence. The fortress is home to many monuments such as numerous gates, towers, walls from Roman and medieval times, as well as Turkish and Austrian. Some time at leisure to have a break and take a lunch in one of the restaurants in the park and fortress area. By bus, we continue to explore rich art-deco style state buildings within the city centre and the very masterpiece of Seriban-Byzantine architecture, Saint Sava Temple, the second largest Orthodox temple in the world. We finish this tour at the resting place of former Yugoslav president, Josip Broz Tito, the famous House of Flowers. Time at leisure untill the evening, when we will have a dinner in an old, bohemian part of the city, Skadarlija and enjoy in great traditional cuisine in a national restaurant.

 

Optional: Visit Royal Palace, the official residence of the Karađorđević royal family.

 

Day 6: Belgrade – Smederevo – Viminacium – The Iron Gate – Silver Lake (B,L) approx. 310 km

Early departure to the Eastern Serbia. First stop will be Smederevo Fortress, a medieval fortified city in Smederevo,  which was temporary capital of Serbia in the Middle Ages. This fortress is one of the largest fortifications in the South-East Europe which found its place on a tentative list for a possible UNESCO nomination. Continue to Viminacium, one of the most important Roman towns and military encampments from the period from the 1st to the 6th century. Continue to the Iron Gate, an amazing 83 mile-long stretch of the Danube River separating Serbia and Romania. Lunch in an unique open-air ethno village, followed by an amazing boat ride along the gorge with the breathtaking views. After the afternoon ride, the bus will transfer us to Silver Lake, a popular tourist resort in this part of Serbia. Check in at the hotel and overnight.

Day 7: Silver Lake – Topola Oplenac – Belgrade (B,L) approx. 220 km

After the breakfast, departure to Topola, the place where Karađorđe, a Serbian revolutionary, was chosen as the leader of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire in 1804. You will visit a Memorial Collection of King Peter the First, including Saint George’s Church and the Mausoleum of Karađorđević dynasty which is located on top of Oplenac Hill, in town of Topola. Also you will visit King Peter’s House – Gallery with private his private things as well as King Alexandar, Town of Karadjordje (built between 1911 – 1913 with personal goods and authentical weapons from the First Serbian Insurrection) and the Royal wine cellar. Lunch will be served in quiet and unspoiled nature in traditional village. You will enjoy the national food in typical rural household with beautiful view. After the lunch heading back to Blegrade. Free evening for the idividual activities. Overnight.

 

Optional: Traditional Serbian night with dinner and folklorein Belgrade will fulfill and round up the whole experience for this trip (supplement price – 30€ – 3 course meal, folklore music and dance performance, welcome drinks and snacks)

 

Optional: The overnight can be organized in 5* resort in Aranđelovac Spa, near Topola town and the next day departure from Aran]elovac to the airport (supplement – 60€)

 

 

Day 8: Belgrade – Airport Nikola Tesla (B) approx. 25 km

After the breakfast, time at leisure until departure to the airport.
