This is a unique tour during which you’ll visit more than 15 wineries and taste the best-quality wines in the region.
Day 1
Novi Sad
Arrival in Novi Sad. Accommodation in 3* hotel in the city center. After a short break and rest, a sightseeing tour of Novi Sad. Wine tasting in a wine cellar.
Day 2
Novi Sad – Monastery Rakovac – Banoštor – Novi Sad
Breakfast. This day you will spend by visiting some of the most important and representative sights of the Srem region. Departure for a visit to Rakovac Monastery, one of 16 monasteries on Fruška Gora. The journey continues to the village Banoštor, located on the slopes of Fruška Gora, close to the Danube River. We will visit a family winery where our hosts will meet us with delicious cakes from this area and where we will taste their best wines. Following a visit to one more winery. Return to Novi Sad and in the evening wine tasting with “meze” in the wine cellar where you will enjoy an atmosphere of tamburitza music.
Day 3
Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci – Belgrade
After breakfast departure to Sremski Karlovci. Sightseeing tour of Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town famous for its beautiful architecture and numerous wine cellars. During this tour, you will see the Orthodox church, Patriarch court, Orthodox Seminary, the fountain “Four Lions”… Visit one of the family-run wine cellars, where we will have wine and honey tasting served with snacks. Here you will try local branded aromatic wine called Bermet. Continue to two more wineries for tasting their delicious wines. The tour goes forward to Belgrade. Upon arrival in Belgrade, accommodation in a hotel. Overnight.
Day 4
Belgrade – Jagodina
Breakfast. Combined walking and panoramic sightseeing tour of Belgrade. On foot, we will visit the biggest park in Belgrade – Kalemegdan park and the Kalemegdan fortress. Gorgeous view from the lookout at the confluence of the Sava and Danube and Novi Beograd is an excellent place for photographing. Next, we will visit the Cathedral, Palace of Princess Ljubica, than we continue walking to the old city of Belgrade (pedestrian zone) and Knez Mihailova Street all the way to Square of Republic, up next to the National Museum and Theatre. After that, continue the sightseeing by bus. We are proceeding in the direction of Terazije, Parliament, City Hall, Pioneer Park, towards Slavija Square. Then we will walk through the park of Karađorđe until the Temple of Saint Sava. There will be a break for a visit to the Temple of Saint Sava. The bus tour continues to Knez Milos Street, which is called the “Street of the Embassies “. After the tour of Belgrade, departure to Jagodina. Upon arrival at Jagodina, we will continue to a nearby village for a visit to two relatively new and modern wineries. Wine tasting of some of the best wines of these regions. Return to Jagodina. Accommodation in a hotel. Overnight.
Day 5
Jagodina – Monastery Ravanica – Zaječar
After breakfast, departure to Monastery Ravanica, the endowment of Prince Lazar of Serbia, who was buried there after the Kosovo battle. Continue of the tour to Zaječar. First, we’ll visit the Roman complex Felix Romulina, one of the most important late Roman sites in Europe. Following is the visit to National Museum and visit to the exhibition of archaeological explorations of Felix Romuliana. Accommodation in a hotel in Zaječar.
Day 6
Zaječar –Rajačke Pimnice – Kladovo
Breakfast. Departure from Zaječar to Negotin’s wine region where we’ll first visit Rajacke Pimnice, a unique complex of numerous wine cellars, partially dug into the ground. The cellars are partially underground and on the ground floor are rooms where villagers live during the grape-harvest. Wine tasting of wines, such as Prokupac, Burgund, Gamay, and others will be served along with traditional specialties. After lunch, continue to Kladovo. Accommodation in a hotel. Overnight.
Day 7
Kladovo – Donji Milanovac – Lepenski Vir – Silver lake
After breakfast, visiting the Fortress Diana, located on a high cliff above the Danube River. The tour goes forward along the Danube shore all to Donji Milanovac. In Donji Milanovac, we’ll visit the „Open Air Gallery “ at Djerdap Lake where we’ll take a break for lunch in a beautiful environment, with a magnificent view on the wide Danube gorge. Continuing of the tour along the Danube toward Lepenski Vir. It was the centre of one of the most important prehistoric cultures. At the Lepenski Vir site, the remains of religious architecture dating from 6500 to 5500 BC had been found. Departure to Silver Lake. Accommodation and overnight in a hotel.
Day 8
Silver lake – Smederevo – Krnjevo – Belgrade
Breakfast. Departure to Smederevo fortress, raised by Djuradj Brankovic in the 15th century. This fortress is one of the biggest medieval fortifications in Europe. The fortress towers and walls were demolished during WW2, but it has been restored and today it presents one of the most beautiful monuments on the Danube coast. After the tour of the fortress, we’ll continue for a visit to the last winery on this tour, in the village Krnjevo. Here, we’ll visit the wine cellar of family Radovanovic. This winery many years has developing their brand and took the production of some wines to perfection (Riesling, Chaeronea and Cabernet Sauvignon). Today, this winery annually produces about 400.000 liters of wine. Departure to Belgrade. Accommodation and overnight in a hotel.
Day 9
Belgrade
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. End of the program.
